Limitations of Sky, the AI copilot, and How to Use It Effectively

Sky, the AI copilot, helps users find information, answer questions about their backups, and perform restore or export operations.
It is important to understand the scope of what Sky can and cannot do before using it.

1. What Sky Can and Cannot Do

What Sky can do

  • Answer questions about your backup data

  • Perform two actions: restore and export

What Sky cannot do

  • Modify or delete backup data

  • Add or remove users or admins

  • Delete backup jobs

  • Create support tickets

  • Generate restore/export reports

Sky is primarily a read-only tool except for restore and export. Any other changes must be done manually by an administrator.

2. Restore and Export Limitations

Limit of 10 items per operation
Sky can restore or export a maximum of 10 items in a single operation. Larger requests must be split into multiple operations.

No direct selection from the list
When you submit a restore or export request, Sky first shows the first 10 matching items it found.
You cannot directly select or deselect from this list.
To exclude an item, you must ask Sky to remove it by name. Sky will then regenerate the list (for example, 9 items). Once you confirm, it will perform the restore/export on the remaining items.

Destination must be specified
Sky does not assume a default restore destination. You must specify the account or folder where the restored data should go.

3. Session and Processing Limitations

No alerts after logout
If you log out while Sky is answering a question, you will not be notified when it finishes. You must manually check the response later in AI Mode (conversation history).

Session timeout
Your session with Sky expires after 1 hour of inactivity.

Processing timeout
Each question has a 4-minute backend processing time limit. If the time limit is exceeded, Sky will show an error.

One question at a time in Mini Bot
The Mini Bot panel can only process one question at a time. You must wait for it to finish before asking the next question.
(You can use the main interface if you need to ask another question immediately.)

Monthly question limit
Each user can ask up to 10 questions per month by default. To get unlimited access, please contact our sales team.

Accuracy depends on specific questions
Sky works best when questions clearly mention the user, cloud, and domain.
Vague or incomplete questions may produce inaccurate results.

“All” context reduces accuracy
Choosing “All” forces Sky to scan all connected data sources, which can reduce accuracy. Choosing a specific context gives better results.

Sky, the AI copilot, is a powerful tool when used within its defined scope. It can answer questions and perform restore or export operations, but it has clear limits on how it functions. By understanding these limitations  users can work more efficiently and get accurate results without disruption.
