How to write Organisational Unit (OU) path for Google Workspace

1. Navigate to Organizational Units

To access your OU structure:

1. Sign in to Google Admin Console:
   https://admin.google.com

2. In the left navigation menu, go to:
   Directory → Organizational units

3. The page displays your entire OU hierarchy in a tree structure.
   Click any OU to view its users, sub-OUs, or settings.

2. How to write an OU path

Google Workspace uses a folder-style hierarchy to represent OUs.
Write the OU path from parent → child → sub-child, separated by slashes.

/ParentOU/ChildOU/SubChildOU

Examples

• A top-level OU named Staff:

• Staff → Teachers:

• Staff → Teachers → Grade 5

/Staff/Teachers/Grade 5

Important rules

• All OU paths must start with a forward slash (/).

• The names must exactly match the OU names in Admin Console.
