What happens when I select different restore options in QuickBooks Online?
When you restore data from QuickBooks Online in SysCloud, the restore options decide how the selected item is handled in the destination company. The option names may vary based on what you are restoring, such as transactions, lists, or attachables.
Transactions
Available restore options
-
Overwrite transaction – If the selected transaction already exists in QuickBooks Online, SysCloud replaces it with the version available in the backup snapshot. If the transaction does not exist, SysCloud creates a new transaction with ‘SysCloud’.
-
Skip transaction if present in QuickBooks Online – If the selected transaction already exists in QuickBooks Online, SysCloud does not replace it. If the transaction does not exist, SysCloud creates a new transaction with ‘SysCloud’.
-
Create new transactions – SysCloud always creates a new transaction with ‘SysCloud’.
Note:
-
If the document number has reached the QuickBooks Online limit, SysCloud cannot add a suffix and the transaction may be skipped.
-
Only the selected transactions are created, linked customers, vendors, or accounts must already exist in QuickBooks Online.
-
Creating new transactions might impact the balances of associated accounts and may result in unintended spikes.
Lists
Available restore options
-
Overwrite lists – If the selected item already exists in QuickBooks Online, it will be replaced with the version available in the backup snapshot. If the item does not exist in QuickBooks Online, a new item will be created with ‘SysCloud’.
-
Skip lists if present in QuickBooks Online – If the selected item already exists in QuickBooks Online, it will not be replaced with the version available in the backup snapshot. If the item does not exist in QuickBooks Online, a new item will be created with ‘SysCloud’.
Attachables
Available restore options
-
Overwrite attachable – If the selected attachable already exists in QuickBooks Online, it will be replaced with the version available in the backup snapshot. If the attachable does not exist in QuickBooks Online, a new item will be created with ‘SysCloud’.
-
Skip attachable if present in QuickBooks Online – If the selected attachable already exists in QuickBooks Online, it will not be replaced with the version available in the backup snapshot. If the attachable does not exist in QuickBooks Online, a new item will be created with ‘SysCloud’.
-
Create new attachable – A new attachable will always be created with ‘SysCloud’.
