What types of restores are available for HubSpot in SysCloud?

SysCloud allows you to restore backed-up HubSpot data based on the level of recovery required. You can restore specific records, entire objects, multiple objects, and engagements such as tasks, notes, calls, meetings, and emails.

Types of HubSpot restores available in SysCloud

You can perform the following types of restores for HubSpot using the SysCloud backup application:

1. Entire object restore

Use entire object restore when you need to roll back all records in a HubSpot object to a selected point in time.

For example, if multiple records in the Contacts object were deleted or modified, you can restore the entire Contacts object from a previous backup snapshot.

When you restore an entire object, SysCloud restores all records in that object based on the selected snapshot. Object associations will also be restored if the associated objects and records are available in the HubSpot account.

For detailed information about how entire object restore works, see What happens when I restore an entire object in HubSpot using the SysCloud backup application?.

2. Multiple-object restore

Use multiple-object restore when you need to restore more than one HubSpot object at the same time.

For example, if records from Contacts and Companies were deleted, you can select both objects from the HubSpot backup archives and restore them from the required backup snapshot.

To restore multiple objects, select the checkboxes next to the required object names, select the backup snapshot, and click “Restore.”

3. Record-level restore

Use record-level restore when you need to restore specific HubSpot records from a selected backup snapshot.

For example, if a few contact, company, deal, or ticket records were deleted from HubSpot, you can select only those records from the backup archive and restore them.

To restore specific records, go to the HubSpot backup archives, open the required account, select the object, choose the records you want to restore, select the backup snapshot, and click “Restore.”

4. Engagement restore

Use engagement restore when you need to restore HubSpot engagements associated with a record.

SysCloud supports the restore of the following HubSpot engagements:

  • Tasks
  • Notes
  • Calls
  • Meetings
  • Emails

To restore engagements, open the required HubSpot object, select the record whose engagements you want to restore, choose the backup snapshot, select the engagement type and the engagement records, and click “Restore.”

Restore options

What is the “Overwrite records” option?

The “Overwrite records” option is available during HubSpot restore.

If you select “Overwrite records,” SysCloud restores deleted records and overwrites existing records with the version available in the selected backup snapshot. This means modified records will roll back to the selected point in time.

If you do not select “Overwrite records,” SysCloud restores only deleted records. Records that already exist in HubSpot will be skipped, even if a modified version exists in the selected backup snapshot.

Due to HubSpot API limitations, deleted HubSpot records restored using SysCloud will be restored with new record IDs. Any active list or workflow that uses the original record ID as a filter criterion may need to be manually reviewed and updated.
