Unable to transfer file ownership for files

This issue occurs when the user you're trying to transfer ownership to is inactive or not part of your domain.

File ownership can only be transferred to active users within the same domain. If the user is suspended, deleted, or from an external domain, the ownership transfer will fail.

To fix this, check the following:

  • The user is active in your admin console

  • The user’s email belongs to your domain

  • There are no typos in the email address

Once resolved, retry the ownership transfer.
