      What Is Context in Sky, the AI copilot, and Why You Should Select It

      Sky, the AI copilot, helps you ask questions about your backup data and perform restore or export operations.
      Before you ask a question, you can choose a Context — this tells Sky which part of your environment to focus on while generating answers.

      Choosing the correct context is essential for getting accurate and relevant results quickly.

      What Is Context?

      Context is the focus area from which Sky will pull information to answer your question.

      Instead of searching across your entire environment, Sky looks only at the selected context.
      This makes responses faster, more accurate, and specific to what you are currently viewing.

      Available Contexts in Sky

      Here are the contexts you can choose while using Sky, along with when to use them and sample prompts that follow best practices:

      Backup Progress (Dashboard) To check backup completion status and trends for your organization. “Show me the backup progress for all Microsoft 365 users in acme.com over the last 7 days.”
      Usage Stats (Dashboard) To view license usage, storage usage, or data growth trends. “How much Google Drive storage has been used by acme.com this month?”
      Audit Logs (Dashboard) To track user or admin activities recorded in the system. “List all admin actions recorded in the audit logs for acme.com this week.”
      All Add-ons (Dashboard) To get an overview of activity across all connected add-ons. “Which add-ons had the highest number of restores in July for acme.com?”
      Archive Table (Archives) To ask about archived items visible in the current archive view. “How many archived Gmail emails are listed for user@acme.com?”
      Backup Job (Jobs) To ask about a specific backup job you have opened. “Why did the backup job for user@acme.com on OneDrive fail yesterday?”
      Jobs View (all jobs) (Jobs) To ask about any backup job while viewing the full jobs list. “Show all backup jobs that are currently in progress for Microsoft 365 users.”
      Add-on Reports (Reports) To get summaries or metrics from reports of connected add-ons. “Show the report of Google Drive restore activity for acme.com last month.”
      Search Report (Search Results) To ask about the specific search results you are currently viewing. “Export these search results for user@acme.com as a CSV file.”
      Access Management (Settings) To ask about user roles, permissions, and access-related changes. “Who was given admin access in the last 7 days in acme.com?”
      Audit Logs (Settings) To ask about actions taken by admins in the settings area. “Show all permission changes made by admins in the last 30 days.”

       

      Tip: Always include the user, domain, or cloud name in your prompt to help Sky respond more quickly and accurately.

       

      Why Selecting Context Is Important

      • Improves accuracy: Sky searches only the relevant data set, reducing the chance of incorrect or incomplete answers.

      • Speeds up responses: A smaller scope allows Sky to process your question faster.

      • Reduces ambiguity: Context tells Sky exactly which user, job, or dataset you mean, instead of forcing it to scan everything.

      • Prevents irrelevant results: Without context, Sky defaults to All, which can return slower, broader, or unrelated responses.

      By selecting the correct context, you help Sky understand exactly which data to focus on.
      This leads to faster, clearer, and more accurate responses every time you use Sky.
