Can I disable the backup process for suspended accounts in my domain?
Yes. SysCloud allows you to exclude suspended users from a Google Workspace backup job during scope configuration.
You can exclude suspended accounts when the backup scope is set to either:
- Entire domain
- Specific org units or users
Follow these steps if you want to disable backup for certain users:
Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Jobs and click Create new backup job.
- If the backup job already exists and you wish to update it, Select the Google Workspace backup job you want to update.
- From the side tray, click Edit.
Step 3: Enter/ Update the name and description for the backup job and click Next.
Step 4: In Step 2: Connect clouds & add accounts, make sure that the status is “Connected”. Click on the Edit pencil icon under the Action column to check the accounts added.
- Verify if the required Google account is added.
- If the Google Workspace account is not connected, connect and add account before continuing. Refer How can I connect my Google Workspace account to the SysCloud backup application?
Step 5: Go to Step 3: Select the scope of the job. In the Google Workspace Scope selection column, click the edit icon.
Step 6: In the Entities - Google Workspace pop-up, select the required account and domain.
Step 7: For an entire domain
- Click the count under Protected users.
- Click the filter icon.
- Under User status, select the required user status and exclude Suspended users from the selection. Click Done.
Step 8: For specific org units or users
- In the Entities - Google Workspace pop-up, select Specific org units or users from the Select users to backup drop-down.
- Click Add Users.
- In the Add users pop-up, select either the By Org Unit tab or the By User tab.
- Click the filter icon.
- Under User status, select the required user status and exclude Suspended users from the selection.
- Select the users or org units you want to include in the backup and click on Confirm.
Step 9: Close the user list and click Confirm.
Step 10: Continue through the remaining steps of the job configuration by clicking Next.
Step 11: On the Define action flows step, Click Start Backup to save the updated configuration.
