Restore a Box user account
Locate the user in the backup archive, choose the snapshot version and select to restore to the same user/ different user.
Follow the steps to restore Box user
- Step 1: Log in to SysCloud application using your admin credentials.

- Step 2: Click on Archives and select Box from the Backup and Restore drop down.

Step 3: Select the account to navigate to the user archives. Use the search bar and filters to locate the user quickly.
- Step 4: Select the check boxes to choose the user and click the Restore button. A restore popup will open up with advanced restore options.
Note: You can only restore one user at a time.
Advanced restore options
- Step 5: Select the backup snapshot version you want to restore.
- Step 6: Choose the user your want to restore the data to. You can restore the file(s) to the owner or to a different user.
- Step 7: Choose the appropriate restore options, add comments on the restore for your reference(optional).
Restore options
- Check the Restore with Collaborations option to restore user's folders and files with the sharing permissions intact.
- Check overwrite records to overwrite the user's account with the version you are restoring.
Check Create a new folder for restore to restore the data as new folders and files. - Check Restore with Comments to restore any box comments attached to user's files.
- Step 8: Finally, select the Restore button to begin the restore.
Track the restore progress
- Step 9: Click the Restore report button in the restore notification to view your restore progress.
