What are the restore limitations for Slack using the SysCloud backup application?
You cannot restore the following Slack data using SysCloud backup application:
- An entire workspace.
- Private channel and direct message conversations of all users. Currently, we can only backup admin’s Slack conversations.
- Edits to existing replies.
- Due to Slack API limitations, SysCloud cannot restore messages with over 100,000 characters.
- Due to Slack API limitations, SysCloud cannot restore messages with over 100 attachments.
Note: Only links to files are restored during Slack restore. For non-Slack files, if the file is deleted in the cloud it is taken from (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.,) the restore would be successful but the link will be invalid.
Beta version limitations:
- Restore to a different channel.
- Cross-workspace restore.
- Does not allow end-users/non-admins to restore their files.
- During a restore job, only 50 items can be restored.
