Drive Restore Failure Due to View-Only Permission

Error Message: Restore failed. It appears the destination user account doesn't have the necessary privileges to restore. 

Here’s why we are unable to restore the file to the user’s Drive:

Restore with sharing permissions failed because the user has view-only permission for the file(s). This is a Google API limitation.

You can try either of the 2 alternatives to get the file from the archive.

  1. The file can be restored to the user without sharing permissions selected. The user will be the owner of the restored file.
  2. The file can be exported from the archive and uploaded to Drive.
