How do I apply a legal hold on specific data?

This feature is only available to users who have opted for eDiscovery add-on.

SysCloud allows you to apply a legal hold on specific backed-up data from the Search report page or from the item-level Archives page.

You can either create a new hold or add the selected items to an existing hold.
Apply legal hold from the Search report page
Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Reports. From the report drop-down, select Search report.

Step 3: Locate the required search report. Click the search result count under the Search results column.

Step 4: On the search results page, select the checkbox next to the item you want to place on legal hold. Click Hold.

Step 5: In the Hold pop-up, choose one of the following options:

| Create a new hold | Select Create a new hold, enter a hold name, and proceed. |
| Add to an existing hold | Select Add to an existing hold, choose an existing hold from the list, and proceed. |
Step 6: Click Hold.

A confirmation message appears indicating that hold creation is in progress.
Apply legal hold from the Archives page
Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Archives. From the cloud navigation bar on the left, select the required cloud application.

Step 3: Open the required account company, user archive, or app archive.
Step 4: Navigate to the item-level archive where the data is available. Select the checkbox next to the item you want to place on legal hold.
Step 5: Click More > Hold.
Step 6: In the Hold pop-up, choose one of the following options:

| Add to an existing hold | Select Add to an existing hold, choose an existing hold from the list, and proceed. |
Step 7: Click Hold.
The selected item will be placed under the selected legal hold.
View hold status
To view the status of a legal hold action, go to Reports > Hold report.
Actions are applied only to the currently loaded results. If you want to apply a hold to all matching search results, make sure all results are loaded before proceeding.
