How do I apply a legal hold on specific data?

SysCloud allows you to apply legal holds from three key locations: the search results page, the archives page, and the search report page.

Search results page

  1. Perform a search to display the relevant results.
  2. Select one or more users from the search results and apply a legal hold. All the items under that specific users will be placed on hold.
  3. If redirected to the archives page from the search results, you can still select multiple items and apply a legal hold. The same confirmation dialog box will appear for the hold action.

Archives page

  1. Navigate to the item-level archives for a detailed view of specific data.
  2. Locate the items you want to preserve and click the more actions menu.

Search report page

  1. Access the search report page to view aggregated search results.
  2. Select one or more search results.
  3. Click the hold action.

When selecting the Hold action from any of the three locations, you can choose one of the following options:

  1. Create a New Hold Name

    • Enter a name for the new hold in the dialog box.
    • Click Hold to place the selected items under the new hold.
  2. Add to an Existing Hold

    • Select an existing hold name from the list.
    • Click Hold to add the selected items to that hold.
