How to export a Team’s channel(s) from the SysCloud backup application?

Follow the steps below to export Microsoft Teams channels from the SysCloud backup application.

Steps

Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.

Step 2: Go to Archives.

Step 3: From the cloud navigation bar on the left, select Microsoft 365.

Step 4: Under Microsoft 365, select Teams.

Step 5: To narrow down the list, either use Search or Filter option.

Step 6: Select the team that contains the channel you want to export.

Step 7: In the team archive, go to the Channels tab.

Step 8: Select the required Snapshot Date. The snapshot date determines the backup version of the OneDrive data that will be exported.

Step 9: For point-in-time export, click on the snapshot date to change it. Select the desired snapshot date & time in To & From. Then click on Apply.

Step 10: Select the checkbox next to the channel you want to export. You can select multiple channels if you want to export more than one channel at the same time.

Step 11: Click Export.

Step 12: In the export confirmation pop-up, review the selected channel or channels and snapshot date.

Step 13: Add a comment, if required. The comment will be shown in the export report.

Step 14: Click Export to confirm the export. The export process will be initiated for the selected Teams channel or channels.

View export status

To view the export status, go to Reports > Export report.

The exported data will be available for download from the export report when the export is complete. The download link remains active for 7 days.

After extracting the ZIP file, the channel content is organized in folders based on the channel and its associated SharePoint file structure. Files shared in the Teams channel are available under the corresponding SharePoint folders, such as Documents, and are retained in their original/native format where applicable. The messages are obtained in HTML format.
