How do I restore a folder for a user?

Follow the steps to restore a folder from a user’s backup archive:

 

Choose the UI version - Turbo UI | Legacy UI

Follow the steps below to restore Google Workspace user archives from the Turbo version of the SysCloud backup application: 

Step 1: Log in to SysCloud using your admin credentials.  

Step 2: Click on “Archives” and select Google Workspace from the Backup and Restore dropdown. Select an account and domain from the list to view your archives.  

Note: You can also search for users, accounts, or domains in the global search bar to make the restore process easier.


Step 3: Navigate to the user archives tab and click on a user name to drill down into their archive. 

Step 4: Select the app and select the folder(s) by clicking on the checkbox on the left pane. 

Step 5: In the restore pop-up box, select an account to restore the data and click restore. 

Legacy UI

  • Log in to SysCloud Backup Application with your credentials.
  • Click “Backup”→“Archive & Restore."

  • Click on the user whose data you want to restore and select “Drive.”
  • Click on the drop-down icon next to“My Drive” and select the folders you want to restore.

Note: You can restore only a folder or both the folder and its subfolders.

  • Click “Restore” and choose “Selected Folder.”

The chosen folders will be restored to the user’s Google Drive.

Note:

  1. You will receive a confirmation email after completion of the restore process.
  2. You can restore older versions of files only. Accounts or specific folders cannot be restored to their respective older instances. 
  3. When folders are deleted, they will not be removed from the backup archive – unless you manually delete them from the application. Any new folder added after backup completion will be added to the archive in the next cycle.
  4. The speed of file or folder restore depends on the size, format, and number of files.
