How to restore to the original location of the file/folder?
By default, SysCloud restores OneDrive files and folders to the original location from which they were backed up or deleted.
Follow the steps below to restore OneDrive data to its original location.
Steps
Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Archives.

Step 3: From the cloud navigation bar on the left, select Microsoft 365.

Step 4: Under Microsoft 365, select OneDrive.

Step 5: Select the user whose OneDrive archive contains the file or folder you want to restore.

Step 6: Browse the folder structure from the left navigation panel or use the search option to locate the required file or folder.
Step 7: Select the checkbox next to the file or folder you want to restore.

Step 8: Click Restore.
Step 9: In the restore confirmation pop-up, review the selected file or folder.

Step 10: To restore the file or folder to its original location, make sure:
- The Destination is selected as the original owner’s drive. By default, the original owner is selected.
- The Create a new folder option is not selected.
Step 11: Add a comment, if required. The comment will be shown in the restore report.

Step 12: Click Restore to confirm the action.

The selected OneDrive file or folder will be restored to its original location based on the folder structure captured in the backup archive.
The restore status can be verified from Reports > Restore report.

Example
Assume a file named Project Plan.docx was backed up from this OneDrive path:
OneDrive > Documents > Projects > Project Plan.docx
If the file is deleted and later restored with Create a new folder unchecked, SysCloud restores the file back to:
OneDrive > Documents > Projects
If the Projects folder was moved after the backup was taken, the file will still be restored based on the folder location captured in the previous backup.
The files and folders are restored based on the OneDrive folder structure available in the selected backup snapshot. If a folder was moved recently, the file will still be restored to the original backed-up location, not the newly moved location.
