Why was an unusually large number of changed items detected as an anomaly?
SysCloud's anomaly detection identifies unusual deviations in data patterns. A trend-level anomaly occurs when data significantly deviates from expected trends and patterns based on historical activity.
Why is this detected as an anomaly?
SysCloud's algorithm incorporates:
- Trends: Long-term patterns in data activity.
- Seasonality: Periodic fluctuations like weekly or monthly spikes.
- Irregularities: Sudden, unexplained deviations.
When an unusually large number of items are changed, it disrupts the historical baseline, triggering an anomaly alert.
Example
If your backup typically detects changes to 500 items weekly, and suddenly 5,000 items are changed, this deviation is flagged as an anomaly for investigation.
