What are the types of Slack data that can be backed up using the SysCloud backup application?

You can back up supported Slack workspace data using the SysCloud backup application. SysCloud backs up Slack data such as workspaces, users, conversations, messages, threads, files, and user groups.

Slack data supported for backup

SysCloud supports backup for the following Slack data:

Slack data Description
Workspaces Slack workspace-level information for the connected workspace.
Users Slack users associated with the connected workspace.
Workspace users User membership and association details within the connected Slack workspace.
Public channels Public Slack channels available in the connected workspace.
Private channels Private Slack channels that the connected Slack admin account has access to.
Direct message conversations Direct message conversations available to the connected Slack admin account. Only direct messages of authenticated users will be backed up.
Group direct message conversations Group direct message conversations available to the connected Slack admin account. Only direct messages of authenticated users will be backed up.
Messages Messages within supported Slack conversations, including supported channels and direct message conversations.
Message replies and threads Replies and threaded messages within supported Slack conversations.
Files Slack files associated with the connected workspace and supported conversations.
User groups Slack user groups created in the connected workspace.
  • Public channels, private channels, direct messages, and group direct messages are treated as Slack conversation types.
  • Private channels are backed up only when the connected Slack admin account has access to those channels and the required Slack permissions are granted.
  • Direct messages are backed up only when they are accessible through the connected Slack admin account and the required Slack permissions are granted.
  • The Slack data available for backup depends on the Slack plan, connection type, permissions granted during authorization, and the access available to the connected Slack account.
