What items are included in MS365 account restores?

When you restore a Microsoft 365 account from the SysCloud backup application, the items available for restore depend on the Microsoft 365 app, the user’s license, and the type of data being restored.

OneDrive

OneDrive files and folders can be restored only if the user has the required Microsoft 365 license.

You can restore:

  • Files
  • Folders
  • Folder structure, based on the backed-up OneDrive archive

During restore, you can choose whether to restore the files to the original location or create a new folder for the restored files.

Outlook

SysCloud supports restore for backed-up Outlook mailbox data. However, some Outlook items are not restored.

Outlook restore does not include:

  • Public emails
  • Archived emails
  • Meeting-related emails

If these items are required, they can be exported from the SysCloud backup archive instead of being restored.

Calendar

Microsoft 365 calendar events can be restored from the SysCloud backup archive.

However, public calendars cannot be restored.

When calendar events are restored, they appear on the actual event date, not on the date when the restore was performed or when the event was originally created.

Contacts

SysCloud can restore contact-related data backed up from Microsoft 365.

This includes the available contact records in the user’s Microsoft 365 backup archive.

SharePoint Sites

SysCloud supports restore for backed-up SharePoint Sites data.

You can restore:

  • SharePoint sites
  • Files and folders inside SharePoint sites
  • Supported site content available in the backup archive

Microsoft Teams

SysCloud supports restore for backed-up Microsoft Teams data.

You can restore:

  • Teams
  • Channels
  • Chats, where restore is supported

The availability of restore actions depends on the data backed up, the selected Microsoft 365 app, and the user’s Microsoft 365 license. If an item cannot be restored, check whether it can be exported from the SysCloud backup archive.
