Why are some entities missing from the backup “Scope” menu?
An entity such as a domain, group, user, or Organisational Unit (OU) may be missing from the backup scope if it is already included in another backup job.
Each entity can be included in only one backup job. To add the entity to a new backup job, remove it from the existing backup job first.
Steps to remove the entity from the existing backup job
Step 1: Log in to the SysCloud backup application using your admin credentials.
Step 2: Go to Jobs.
Step 3: Open the Google Workspace backup job you want to update.
Step 4: From the side tray, click Edit.
Step 5: Go to Step 3: Select the scope of the job. In the Google Workspace domain selection column, click the edit icon.
Step 6: In the Select users to backup column, from the drop-down select Specific org units or users. Click Add Users.
- OU Removal: From the Add Users menu, under the By Org Unit tab, uncheck the OU you want to exclude from backup. Then click Confirm.
- Users removal: From the Add Users menu, under the By User tab, uncheck the users you want to remove from backup. Then click Confirm.
Step 7: In the Entities – Google Workspace pop-up window, Click Confirm to proceed.
Step 8: Click Next to go to the Select Apps step.
Step 9: Click Next to skip and go to the Configure settings step.
Step 10: Click Next to skip and go to the Configure add-ons step.
Step 11: Click Next to skip and go to the Define action flows step.
Step 12: On the Define action flows step, Click Start backup to save the updated job configuration.
Add the entity to a new backup job
After the entity is removed from the existing backup job, it will be available in the scope menu when you create or edit another backup job. Follow the same steps to add an entity in another job.
If the entity is still not visible after removing it from the previous job, refresh the page and reopen the backup job configuration.
