The auto-backup feature on the SysCloud Application can be used to facilitate the automatic backup of new users added to the domain or an Org Unit.
You can turn on auto-backup using these steps.
The auto-backup of data for users in the backup process is based on how the users are selected for the onboarding process and which auto-backup settings is turned on:
- Onboarding process
The users can be synced and selected for initial backup during the onboarding process using these options:
- Select users: Select specific users for the backup schedule
- Entire domain: Select all the users in the domain
- Auto-backup settings
There are two levels for choosing the auto-backup function for your domain:
- Domain level: Turn on auto backup for all users in the domain
- Org-unit (OU) level (or Group-level): Turn on auto backup for selected org units (or Groups)
Note:
- If the auto-backup process is not turned on for the Org Units (or Groups), by default, it will be the same as the auto-backup settings for the domain – unless you change an Org Unit’s backup settings by choosing to override the default settings."
- If the auto-backup is turned on for the entire domain, then the users selected during the onboarding process will be backed up after they are synced to the application. Users that were not synced during the onboarding will be backed up after they are synced – SysCloud Application will back up users synced to the application for every 4 hours.
If the onboarding is completed before or after the auto-backup feature is turned on, the backup process will be done as summarized below.
