Why does SysCloud disable Salesforce rules and workflows during restore?
When restoring data to your Salesforce account, SysCloud temporarily disables Validation Rules, Workflow Rules, and Apex Triggers to ensure a smooth and error-free restore process. These automation rules can interfere with data restoration and may even cause unintended changes to your production environment.
Why are these rules and workflows disabled?
- Preventing restore failures – Validation rules, workflow rules, and Apex Triggers may block or modify restored records, causing inconsistencies.
- Avoiding unintended automation – Restoring historical records can trigger workflows, leading to unwanted updates, emails, or field changes.
- Protecting your production environment – Active workflows may cause bulk updates, incorrect reports, or disruptions. Disabling them ensures data integrity.
What happens after the restore?
- Once the restore is complete, SysCloud automatically enables all disabled rules and workflows to ensure normal Salesforce operations resume.
What if the rules and workflows are not re-enabled?
In rare cases, due to unknown API errors, SysCloud may not be able to enable these rules and workflows automatically. If this happens:
- Immediately contact the SysCloud support team for assistance.
- Our team will help you manually enable the affected rules and workflows to restore normal operations.
