Why are my Drive files missing from the backup archive?
If your Drive files are not present in the backup archive, it could be due to one of these reasons:
- Retention settings: Based on your retention policy, the files in the backup will be automatically deleted. Check and change the retention policy as per your requirements. To set your retention period, click here.
- File ownership: Check if you have enabled the backup for all files (owned or shared) or only for files owned by you.
- Backup Lite: Check if Backup Lite option has been enabled for your domain. If turned on, the Backup Lite option will back up only the files present in the Trash folder. To know how to turn off Backup Lite option, click here.
- PIT restore: If you are using point-in-time (PIT) restore, the files might have been deleted or not updated after the previous backup cycle. Select a previous backup date and search for the file.
